SCTAC’s new 3-mile Oval Track at the International Transportation Innovation Center (ITIC) has been turning heads—not just for the innovative vehicles that test there, but for the quality of the pavement beneath them. This year, the industry took notice, honoring the track with two prestigious awards. A Double Win for Quality The technical mastery required to complete this highway-speed oval earned top honors from the leading authorities in pavement: National Recognition: At its annual meeting in January, the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) awarded the project the 2025 Quality in Construction Award. State Pride: On February 11, the South Carolina Asphalt Pavement Association (SCAPA) presented the 2025 Quality Pavement Award to the project, citing the track’s superior technical results and overall appearance.
